is a golden artist living in New York. An old friend from my college years, magical Pieter, his numerous incarnations, and their imaginative creations have long intrigued and charmed me. Ultimately this will be or will link to an expanded Pieter Schoolwerth website, where we will host AN INTRODUCTION TO THE WORLD OF FIRE, a 23-minute audio/visual journey through language, knowledge, and golden creatures. For now, I simply plant a seed.

"Family" 2005, oil on linen, 83 x 100 inches
Pieter long ago shared with me his love for the music of The Legendary Pink Dots. When, years later, I set out to publish a lyric book by this group's vocalist, Edward Ka-Spel, it was only Pieter's work that could grace the cover of the cd-single included in the book. Edward Ka-Spel is, in turn, almost at the heart of the top painting on this page: “...Chapters 3 & 4.” |
